Halian is seeking a highly skilled HPC Linux Engineer for a 6‑month extendable contract in Abu Dhabi. This role is ideal for engineers experienced in high-performance computing (HPC) environments, with a strong focus on Linux system administration, job scheduling, and parallel file system management.

The HPC Linux Engineer will support secure, performance-critical operations in military, defense, or other highly secure computing environments. 🛠 Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Linux servers (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) in HPC environments

• Configure, manage, and optimize job schedulers (Slurm, PBS, Torque, etc.)

• Manage parallel file systems, specifically BeeGFS

• Monitor and optimize compute, storage, and network performance

• Support secure-environment operations with strict compliance and data integrity

• Collaborate with system architects and engineering teams to ensure high availability and performance

• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and HPC-specific technical issues

🎓 Requirements & Qualifications

🎓 Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field

💼 Experience

• Proven experience with Linux administration in HPC or high-performance environments

• Hands-on experience with HPC job schedulers (Slurm, PBS, Torque, etc.)

• Expertise in parallel file systems, particularly BeeGFS

• Understanding of compute, storage, and network performance optimization

• Experience working in military, defense, or secure computing operations

• Linux server administration (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu)

• HPC architecture knowledge (compute nodes, clusters, storage systems)

• Job scheduler configuration and performance tuning
